Author's note

Nanako, created by BehindtheSun, is a free portrait dingbat font built from sharply simplified faces and hairstyles. The figures use solid silhouettes, sparse facial lines, and broad areas of untouched space to suggest expressions with very little detail. Their cropped, poster-like treatment has the crisp immediacy of stencil art, with each portrait reading as a compact illustration rather than a conventional letter.

Designers working in fashion, music, or youth culture can use these faces as recurring cast members across posters, merchandise, and event graphics. In editorial design, the portraits could mark columns, introduce interviews, or form a sequence of section icons, letting the font function as illustration throughout a magazine.
