Author's note
N.E. Artlien, created by neurone error of FSI FontShop International GmbH, is a free geometric dingbat font built from abstract forms. Domed tops, clipped corners, sharp notches, and broad rectangular masses give the symbols a modular, architectural look.
Experimental posters are an especially convincing use, since the forms can function as oversized signs rather than conventional lettering. They also suit album packaging, arts-event graphics, and editorial section openers with a severe, constructed style. Repeated across a design, the symbols can become borders, emblems, or fragments of an abstract illustration.
