Newblack by Agung Maskund of Decade Type Foundry is a free medieval blackletter font with an aggressive, angular profile. Broad vertical strokes break into blade-like points, and fine inner lines carve sharp facets through the letters. The capitals look tall and tightly constructed.
It is strongest on metal album covers, where its hard edges and dense silhouette match forceful artwork. The same cut-metal detailing suits concert posters and streetwear graphics, where the lettering can become part of the illustration.
