Author's note

Notation JL font by Jeffrey N. Levine is a free sans serif font with a strict, uppercase rhythm and simple geometric forms. The letters use straight strokes, a round O, and a sharp A shape that gives the set a crisp, notation-like feel without extra decoration.

Notation JL works well for logos, poster titles, album covers, event signage, and bold editorial captions because its plain structure keeps the focus on form rather than ornament. It also fits packaging, labels, and short wordmarks that need a clear, uncluttered sans serif with a strong graphic edge.
