Author's note

Number 42 Bus NDP, designed by Nate Piekos, is a free italic display sans with broad, flowing strokes and a distinctly streamlined profile. Its rounded forms, tight curves, and strong forward lean make the lettering look fast and clean rather than rigid.

Sports branding is its most convincing role, especially for racing teams, cycling events, or transport campaigns that can use the slant to suggest speed and direction. The same swept shapes suit game graphics and music merchandise, where the lettering recalls the sleek, tech-minded action graphics of the early digital era.
