OIL Stencil, designed by Tibor Lantos, is a free industrial stencil display font with an unmistakably mechanical build. Its massive rectangular strokes are broken by narrow slots, producing letters that resemble cut steel plates or factory markings. Sharp corners, squared curves, and tightly fitted forms give the alphabet a compact, forceful silhouette with almost no softness in its outlines.
Industrial signage is its clearest role. The plate-cut construction also suits machinery branding, video-game interfaces, and military-themed posters, where the lettering can echo equipment labels and armored surfaces. It is most convincing on industrial signage, where its cuts directly recall fabricated metal lettering.
