OpenDyslexicAlta Bold Font

Open Dyslexic Alta Bold, based on Bitstream originals and revised by Abelardo Gonzalez, is a free comic display font with broad, bottom-weighted letters and a gently uneven silhouette. Rounded curves meet blunt joins, and shifting widths keep the lettering from looking mechanically uniform.

Children's publishing is its strongest setting, especially for activity books and educational posters that benefit from sturdy, approachable lettering. The same broad shapes also suit game interfaces and informal product packaging, since all of these settings favor direct, friendly comic-book lettering.

This font was created to help dyslexic readers. Its bottom-heavy design and distinct character shapes are intended to reduce letter confusion.
