Author's note

Pagan Winter, designed by Roland Huse, is a free modern Gothic display font built from extremely slender strokes, sharp diagonals, and repeated parallel lines. The narrow capitals often split into forks and overlaps.

Album packaging can use the fractured geometry as a central graphic device, particularly for metal releases and dark fashion campaigns that favor stark custom lettering rather than conventional blackletter. In game titles and book covers, the doubled strokes and blade-like angles suit stories of pagan ritual, northern myth, and austere medieval fantasy, turning each word into something close to a carved emblem for a fictional cult or frozen kingdom.

Pagan Winter is another font inspired by Szekely-Hungarian runes.

The name comes from the song “Pagan Winter” by Sear Bliss.
