Author's note

Paperclip Heavy, designed by Jan Schmoeger of Paragraph, is a free futuristic display font built from broad, uniform strokes and softly squared curves. Its letters resemble bent tubing or wire, with open joins, clipped turns, and a low-slung geometric structure that feels mechanical yet approachable.

Packaging gives these unusual outlines an immediate purpose, especially on electronics boxes, music releases, and game merchandise with a clean retro-future theme. The continuous, folded shapes can also form memorable signage and product branding, where the lettering becomes part of a technical emblem rather than a neutral label.
