Author's note

PAss the CheX is a free decorative display font with dramatic stroke changes, rounded curves, and broad serif shapes. Its formal lettering is interrupted by circles arranged into geometric forms, lending the design an eccentric, puzzle-like quality.

A board-game brand and an experimental music poster could both draw on this contrast, one for its game-piece associations and the other for its offbeat beat. Toy packaging is another convincing setting. On magazine covers, the dotted geometry can echo stories about puzzles, chance, games, or playful mathematics through lettering that becomes part of the theme.
