Penruth by martinkean of FontStruct is a free minimalist pixel font assembled from widely spaced square modules. Its forms reduce letters to sparse grids with abrupt right angles and generous internal gaps. They resemble an early screen display more than conventional lettering.
That early-computer character makes Penruth apt for game graphics and technology posters. It also suits electronic music artwork. Interface mockups and digital event branding share the same need for lettering that reads as a pattern of lit pixels.
