Author's note

Perestroika by Dasklem is a free Cyrillic-inspired serif display font with stately proportions and pronounced thick-thin strokes. Its broad curves, fine hairlines, and reversed-looking letterforms create an eccentric, disorienting take on book typography.

Themes of political history and Eastern European culture make it apt for museum posters and documentary title cards. The unusual forms could shape record packaging or editorial features that need an offbeat period reference. Because recurring mirrored shapes resemble familiar letters seen through another alphabet, they support graphics about translation or cultural exchange.
