Author's note

PF Arma Five by Yusuke Kamiyamane is a free pixel font built from stark rectangular blocks. Its squared letters have stepped edges and sharply cut interior spaces. Broad, tightly constructed forms recall an early low-resolution screen with almost no decorative detail.

Digital game graphics are a natural setting for this bitmap design, and its machine-like shapes also fit electronics packaging and arcade event posters. In editorial design, it can establish a deliberate retro-computing theme for magazine section openers and technology features about early home computer software culture and hardware history.
