Author's note

Pickzel, designed by Evan Relf of FontStruct, is a free pixel sign dingbat font built from solid rectangular modules. Its hard corners, flat bars, and strict grid construction give the symbols the blunt simplicity of early screen graphics.

Retro games are the clearest setting for these compact geometric marks. They can also supply interface icons, wayfinding graphics, and tech-themed poster details with a deliberately low-resolution look. The block-built forms suit arcade and computing subjects especially well.
