Author's note

Portland LDO by Luke Owens of LDO Fonts is a free high-contrast serif with a crisp, editorial bearing. Broad vertical strokes taper into hairline curves and fine, flat serifs. The proportions are stately and controlled.

A fashion label or boutique publisher could use it to establish an elegant, slightly formal identity. Its sculpted letterforms also suit magazine covers, perfume packaging, and invitations with a refined direction. The recurring shift between broad strokes and hairlines echoes engraved lettering, which makes it especially convincing for luxury goods and cultural events.
