Author's note

PreussischeIV44Ausgabe3 by Peter Wiegel is a free ultra-bold condensed sans serif with blunt, compact forms and a distinctly industrial voice. Thick, nearly even strokes crowd into narrow letter shapes, softened by rounded curves and simple, squared-off joins.

It can give brewery packaging the solid authority of an old factory label, yet its compressed build also suits music posters with limited horizontal space. Editorial cover lines and heritage signage are equally credible settings because the lettering feels direct, sturdy, and slightly severe. Across these uses, the shared thread is a need for dense lettering that recalls practical industrial display type rather than polished corporate typography.
