Author's note

Public Nation by Jordie van Rijn is a free pixel bitmap font with a blunt, screen-born attitude. The letters are built from hard square steps and chunky horizontal bars, giving the alphabet a pared-down, civic-sign feel that lands somewhere between early interface graphics and stripped industrial lettering.

It fits poster headlines, game menus, zine covers, title cards, and logo sketches where a free font needs that crisp digital snap without turning playful. Because the shapes stay so reduced and block-led, it also works well for short labels, monograms, and cover lines that benefit from its compact, grid-locked rhythm.
