Author's note

Publicite d'epoque Basic by Lauren Ashpole is a free handwritten font whose looping letters are traced with evenly spaced dots. Its loose joins, oversized curves, and wavering alignment recall lettering sketched for an old shop window or hand-painted advertisement, with the dotted construction giving every bend a playful, perforated texture.

Packaging is a convincing medium for it, especially on confectionery boxes, cafe labels, and nostalgic gift products where the dotted line can echo borders or patterns. It also suits theatre posters, boutique signage, and editorial features about vintage design.
