Author's note

Quimbie 3D by Peter Wiegel of CAT is a free outlined display font with tall, rounded letterforms and a crisp offset shadow. Slim inner lines give the broad strokes an engraved, machine-cut look.

Its layered contours can echo the borders and geometric shapes in retro-futurist illustration. That connection makes it useful for arcade posters, music packaging, and science-fiction merchandise. It is strongest in a title that needs to function almost like a dimensional logo.
