Rail Model is a free light sans serif with a restrained, almost engineered appearance. Its nearly even strokes and generous letter widths make the forms look calm, open, and precise. Broad curves keep the slim letters from looking too severe.
Its modernist, technical character suits transit maps, architecture publications, and museum graphics, where an orderly, understated voice is appropriate. The same controlled drawing can lend exhibition posters and engineering manuals a practical visual connection to machinery, systems, and measured space.
