Author's note

Railroad Roman 1916 Normal, by E. V. Norat II, is a free high-contrast serif with the formal bearing of classic display lettering. Broad rounded forms meet fine hairlines and compact bracketed serifs. Ball terminals sharpen the otherwise stately silhouette.

Packaging is an apt medium for its old-fashioned print character, especially on heritage food labels and drink branding. The same sturdy, period-minded shapes suit museum publishing and historical event posters, linking those uses through an unmistakable railway-era voice.
