Author's note

Rambla Italic, designed by Martin Sommaruga, is a free italic sans serif with tall, compact letters, open shapes, and a brisk forward lean. Subtle changes in stroke width and gently rounded curves keep the forms lively and even in texture across broad and narrow characters.

Its clean silhouette can cut across documentary photography or flat illustration, bringing informal motion to magazine features, cultural posters, and event programs with an approachable editorial voice. For an independent cafe or small fashion label, the slanted lettering can become part of a directional sign or repeating package pattern, rather than functioning as neutral text.
