Author's note

Rascal is Tommy Cary’s free outlined display font, a scruffy cartoon alphabet with loose spiral curls and a doodled, hand-drawn bounce. The letters feel playful and slightly unruly, with bulbous shapes, soft uneven strokes, and repeated inward swirls that give the whole set a bratty, storybook energy.

That makes this free font a natural pick for kids’ book covers, comic title cards, playful shop signs, party invitations, and quirky poster headlines where the curly rhythm can do most of the talking. It also suits short logos, monograms, and drop-cap moments, because those big looping turns give even a few letters plenty of presence.
