Reaver by Megami Studios is a free retro display font built from thick, rounded strokes and compact curves. Its letters have a modular construction, with clipped joins and enclosed shapes that recall molded plastic signage. The low, rolling silhouette feels playful but substantial.
Posters are its clearest setting, especially for music nights or entertainment events with a 1970s-inspired graphic direction. The broad forms also suit record sleeves and merchandise, where the lettering can function like a custom emblem. Sweet packaging could use the bulbous shapes to echo candy or toys.
Reaver is my attempt to create a horror or bestial font that doesn't conform to the traditional sterotypes of either. A few have called it Geigeresque, and an earlier name for this font - Chupacabra - also inspired.
If you do use it, drop me a line at rob@megamistudios.com. I'd like to see where it pops up!
