Author's note

Relief Grotesk by Typographer Mediengestaltung is a free distressed serif display font built from tall, high-contrast capitals. Abrupt gaps break the strokes into carved-looking fragments, and sharp slab-like feet give the lettering an austere, architectural edge.

Its fractured construction can lend fashion branding a severe elegance, yet it also suits posters and album covers with industrial or avant-garde themes. Across packaging, music graphics, and editorial covers, the appeal is lettering that resembles both damaged print and cut stone.
