Author's note

Renaissance Scrolls by Gabrielle Gaither is a free illuminated-initial font with a clear Renaissance manuscript mood. The defining move is the lavish scrollwork wrapped around the opening letter, while the accompanying caps stay spare, sharp, and classical, giving the font a nice contrast between ornament and restraint.

That mix suits book covers, event stationery, wine labels, chapter openings, and poster titles where one dramatic first letter can carry the theme. As a free font, it feels especially at home in short display settings, drop caps, and monograms, since the ornate opening letter does most of the storytelling at a glance.
