Author's note

Republic Stroke by Designstation is a free eroded display font built from broad upright capitals, blunt slab-like shapes, uneven edges, and tight spacing that appear chipped and worn. Horizontal scratches make the sturdy letters look roughly screen printed.

Poster design is an especially good medium for this distressed texture, and the same rough construction suits album covers, streetwear merchandise, event graphics, and independent magazine covers. The font is most convincing in work that treats lettering like a battered screen print or roughly photocopied masthead instead of clean, neutral captioning.
