Author's note

Rialto, designed by Nick Curtis, is a free high-contrast Art Deco display serif built from towering capitals, needle-thin lines, broad vertical strokes, and spare straight serifs. Its severe geometry feels theatrical, elegant, and distinctly metropolitan.

Architectural silhouettes, fan-like patterns, and sharp blocks of light and shadow make a natural visual match for fashion illustration, theater posters, and luxury packaging, where the lettering can echo columns, spotlights, or cut-paper forms. On editorial covers and in hotel or restaurant branding, its tall proportions can become part of a refined period identity, closer to a stylized facade or engraved emblem than neutral titling.
