Author's note

Roaring Twentie Nine, designed by Manfred Klein, is a free cartoon dingbat font built around miniature scenes, working characters, and street life from the Roaring Twenties. The hand-drawn pictures use lively uneven outlines and compact storybook silhouettes, with vintage cars, delivery wagons, period clothing, and comic gestures recurring throughout the collection.

A single symbol can turn a poster or event invitation into an illustrated period piece. The newspaper-cartoon treatment also suits historical publishing, themed merchandise, and entertainment graphics for swing dancers, vintage motoring enthusiasts, museum visitors, and audiences drawn to silent-era comedy, early twentieth-century popular culture, or broader period social history.
