Author's note

Roland by Thor Arisland is a free high-contrast serif display font with the poised look of modern fashion lettering. Broad, rounded forms meet hairline joins and sharply tapered serifs across the design, and the letters keep an elegant, slightly delicate silhouette.

Fashion magazine covers are its most convincing setting, since the strong thick-thin contrast supports spare, refined editorial layouts. The same formal grace suits fragrance packaging, boutique branding, and posters for galleries or classical performances, all settings built around visual polish and ceremony. In publishing, it can turn book jackets and feature openers into decorative elements rather than neutral labels.
