Author's note

Roman Flames by jbensch is a free outlined serif display font with the tall proportions and sharp contrast of classical Roman lettering. Multiple irregular contour lines run inside the strokes, replacing a clean fill with a restless, hand-cut texture. Fine serifs and sweeping curves keep the letters elegant despite their scorched appearance.

The font is strongest on fantasy and historical event posters, where its carved structure can suggest an inscription touched by fire. It also suits theatrical programs, book covers, and game graphics, since the mix of formal Roman shapes and flickering inner lines connects ceremonial subjects with darker, dramatic imagery.
