Roman SD by Steve Deffeyes is a free high-contrast serif display font with the formal sweep of classical inscriptional lettering. Broad rounded forms meet hairline strokes and sharp wedge-like serifs, giving the capitals a stately but slightly theatrical silhouette.
Classical history and literary subjects are its clearest territory. It suits museum posters, historical book covers, and title cards that benefit from elegant Roman associations. Fashion branding and premium packaging can also use its dramatic stroke changes for a refined editorial note.
