RomantiqueInitials by Aridi of Character is a free medieval floral initials font built from ornate capitals framed by dense foliage and small animals. Woodcut-like floral details recall illuminated manuscripts and early printed ornament.
Publishing is its clearest home, especially for chapter openings, book covers, and historical projects that benefit from lettering that doubles as decoration. The enclosed, tile-like forms can also lend invitations or event posters the look of miniature illuminated panels. This font is most convincing when a single capital becomes an illustrated opening mark rather than ordinary text.
