Author's note

Romanum Est from Imagex is a free distressed old-school display font with classical Roman proportions and a heavily weathered surface. Its tall capitals combine sharp wedge serifs, broad curved strokes, and scattered ink-like breaks that make the lettering resemble an aged print or damaged inscription.

In publishing, it gives historical fiction covers the texture of a worn archival title without losing their formal scale. The same battered elegance suits museum exhibition posters and heritage packaging shaped around antiquity, ruins, or old-world craft. It can also shape theatrical programs and game graphics centered on empires, archaeology, or myth.
