I introduced my eight year old son to the popular 3x3 cubed puzzle by the Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik that celebrated it's 40th Birthday in 2014. I taught him how to complete it using the logical method, two years later after many happy hours of teaching and learning he had this great idea for this typeface. We used a matrix of three 3x3 cubes stacked three high to make a 9x9 grid to pay homage to the original design.
