Author's note

Samarkan from Titivillus Foundry/Ethel Enterprises is a free Indo-Arabic display font with a 1993, hand-drawn feel. The letters borrow the rhythm of Devanagari headlines, with a strong horizontal band across the top, curling strokes, and pointed joins that make the alphabet feel ornamental without turning fussy.

It fits music posters, restaurant branding, festival flyers, book covers, and title cards where a free font can suggest South Asian calligraphy without pretending to be formal script. Use it when you want short words, logos, or monograms to carry the mood, because the sweeping tops and hooked endings do most of the visual work fast.
