Sanchez by Daniel Hernandez is a free slab serif with broad, sturdy proportions and a calm, contemporary finish. Softly bracketed serifs and gently changing stroke widths keep its large forms from looking blunt or mechanical.

Editorial covers are an especially good fit, since the lettering has enough authority for a title yet retains an approachable voice. It also suits restaurant branding, food packaging, and cultural event posters that favor solid typography over sharp formality. Sánchez is Latinotype’s first display type family. It is a slab serif, also known as Egyptian. The family comprises 12 variants, ranging from Extra Light to Black, all with the same x-height. Regular and Italic variants are available for free.
