Sangreal by Marty Bee is a free decorative display font with towering, high-contrast capitals and a theatrical silhouette. Needle-thin strokes meet broad, flared sections, producing dramatic shifts across each letter. Curved cuts and pointed joins give the alphabet an ornate, uncanny edge.
Gothic fantasy and dark stage imagery are fitting subjects for this lettering. It can shape book covers, game graphics, and concert posters into something ceremonial and strange. Fashion labels and themed event materials may also suit its elongated elegance, particularly for audiences drawn to decadent, otherworldly design.
Sangreal is based on a 14th century manuscript hand used by Christians that were under Moslem rule in spain. I used it most recently for typography on a poster announcing a "Bucaneer" festival.
