Sans Serif Shaded, digitized by Dieter Steffmann, is a free Victorian shaded caps display font with the blunt authority of 19th-century poster lettering. The letters are plain, weighty sans forms pushed into deep black side-shadows, so the alphabet feels both straightforward and theatrical at once.
It fits posters, pub signs, packaging, fairground-style graphics, and bold cover lines where that blocky shadow can do the talking without extra ornament. As a free font, it also works well for title cards and monograms, especially when you want a period advertising tone built from simple caps rather than fussy decoration.
