Author's note

Schalk is a free eroded display font with tall, irregular letters and an unmistakably hand-drawn edge. Its narrow strokes shift abruptly in width, and the grainy marks resemble dry marker dragged across a rough surface.

It can lend punk gig posters a raw urgency, yet the same wiry shapes also suit handmade food packaging. Album covers and streetwear graphics are another natural fit. The rough marks speak most directly to independent labels, small venues, and youth-focused brands seeking an unpolished voice.
