Author's note

Scrap Kana, designed by Red no.06, is a free Japanese display font with bold kana built from heavy, clipped shapes and deep rounded cuts. The letters feel pared down and graphic, with a blocky rhythm that reads like signage or paper forms reduced to their simplest, strongest silhouette.

It fits posters, packaging, album art, storefront graphics, and title cards where a free font with this much visual weight can carry a few words on its own. Use it for short headlines, cover lines, or logo-style wordmarks when you want Japanese lettering that feels blunt, modern, and unmistakably shaped by strong negative space.
