Author's note

Scurlock, David F. Nalle's free eroded blackletter display font, brings a rough medieval mood with swollen curves and chipped edges that look cut from worn wood or inked from an old broad pen. The caps feel heavy and restless rather than formal, with curling strokes and uneven bite marks that keep the alphabet looking handmade.

It suits fantasy book covers, tavern signs, game title cards, metal flyers, and poster headlines where a free font can lean into age, folklore, or a little menace. Use the letters for short names, cover lines, or monogram-like initials when you want that scarred, old-world texture to do most of the talking.
