Author's note

Sebaldus Gotisch by Dieter Steffmann is a free medieval blackletter font with the dense, carved feel of old German printing. The letters lean on broad, ink-heavy shapes, sharp cuts, and compact inner spaces, so the alphabet reads more like a row of dark blocks than a flowing script.

That gives this free font a natural place in beer labels, history-themed posters, book covers, band logos, and event branding that wants a late-medieval or Reformation-era voice. It works best where the wording stays short, because those packed, weighty forms bring the most character to titles, initials, and brief headline lines.
