Author's note

Sepultura by Dave Nalle is a free medieval blackletter font with the dark, hand-cut mood of old Gothic lettering. The letters lean on tall, broken strokes and sharp wedge shapes, but what really marks it out is the wiry curl that keeps reappearing at the ends, giving the alphabet a slightly thorny, animated edge.

That makes it a natural fit for album covers, fantasy book jackets, tavern signs, poster titles, and game branding where a plain free font would feel too clean. It also works well for short chapter openers, title cards, and monograms, because those hooked flourishes and narrow vertical rhythm give even a few letters a strong period voice.
