Author's note

Serif12 Bold by Stefan Hattenbach of MAC Rhino is a free high-contrast display serif with broad, commanding letterforms. Its heavy vertical strokes meet hairline serifs and finely tapered curves. Round details soften the otherwise formal drawing.

Publishing is a strong medium, especially magazine mastheads and book covers that benefit from the sharp stroke contrast. Fashion packaging can use the same stately proportions to suggest an established, premium label. It also fits theater posters and cultural event graphics, where the generous curves add spectacle without ornament.
