Author's note

Serval is a free calligraphic script with dramatic capitals and long, sweeping flourishes. Its sharply tapered strokes shift between fine hairlines and broad, dark curves. Letters loop back into themselves and form an ornate, restless silhouette.

It is especially suited to theatrical posters, where the lettering can become part of the spectacle. Invitation designs and fashion packaging can also use its elaborate, formal movement. The extravagant swashes point naturally toward masquerade, romance, and gothic fantasy themes.
