Author's note

SF Covington Shadow by Derek Vogelpohl of ShyFoundry is a free old-school shadowed slab serif display font. Its tall, narrow letters combine sharp slab serifs with an offset shadow and open inner linework, recalling nineteenth-century wood type.

Western history and frontier entertainment are natural subjects for posters and event graphics. The outlined faces suit vintage beverage packaging and music merchandise, especially when a theatrical, handbill-like look is wanted. In branding, the shadow can turn a name into signage.
