Author's note

SF Phosphorus Iodide by Derek Vogelpohl of ShyFoundry is a free outlined serif display font with a lively italic slant. Its changing stroke widths and slim inner gaps give each letter a crisp, double-lined construction. Long curves and bracketed serifs add a loose, old-fashioned flourish.

Themes of vintage theater and comic melodrama suit the exaggerated lean and curling shapes. It can lend period character to posters, entertainment packaging, and event graphics. Those applications share a need for lettering that behaves like a hand-drawn sign rather than neutral type.
