Author's note

Ships, created by Maj TN Mouat of the UK Army, is a free military dingbat font devoted to naval vessels. Its pictograms use solid side-view silhouettes, with distinct profiles ranging from surface ships and small craft to submarines and torpedoes. The shapes are crisp and immediately recognizable.

Maps, wave patterns, and maritime illustrations can incorporate these vessel symbols as part of the scene rather than as ordinary lettering. They suit naval history publishing, museum displays, strategy games, and commemorative posters because the varied hulls suggest a broad working fleet. The font is most convincing when a project needs ship imagery with the directness of identification graphics.
