Author's note

Simonetta, designed by Gayaneh Bagdasaryan of Brownfox, is a free high-contrast serif font with an elegant, slightly theatrical profile. Tall letters, fine hairlines, and sharply tapered curves give the design its particular grace.

Fashion photography and refined cosmetics packaging suit its poised shapes, and the lettering also has the polish needed for magazine covers and invitations. Its sweeping curves can echo the contours of botanical illustration or period costume in cultural posters, making type and image feel closely connected.
